PT Purna Baja Harsco was established on November 2, 1983, PT Purna Baja Harsco is a joint venture company between Dana Pensiun Krakatau Steel (Indonesia) and Harsco Corporation (United States), with Dana Pensiun Krakatau Steel (DPKS) acting as shareholder majority.

Harsco Corporation is an experienced company in the field of metal and steel processing industry services. Harsco Corporation operates in 30 countries, covers 120 locations worldwide and is recognized as the largest company in the metal and steel service industry in the world.

Since its establishment, PT Purna Baja Harsco has run its business under a contract with PT Krakatau Steel (Persero), Tbk. (PTKS) as the main customer. The services provided by PT Purna Baja Harsco (PBH) include scrap management, slag management, solid waste management, metal segregation and other waste management services.

In October 2008, PT Purna Baja Harsco started producing PS Ball using a production facility with Slag Atomizing (SAT) technology licensed from a South Korean company that invented this technology, and became the first company in Indonesia to have a facility with such slag processing technology. Currently PT Purna Baja Harsco has many PS Ball customers, both domestically and abroad, with various business fields.
